Build the file

1. Completed prosumer application for the utility.
2. ID of the account holder and a copy of the bill.
3. Project and calculation memo signed by a licensed professional.
4. Single-line diagram, datasheets and equipment certificates.

Before you continue: One missing piece and the file comes back. Check the list twice.

File and follow up

1. Submit and get a dated receipt.
2. Write down the case number.
3. Call once a week. Do not wait for them to call you.

Before you continue: No case number means no filing.

Stop and call: if there is no answer after three weeks, escalate.

Inspection and bidirectional meter

1. The utility sends an inspector before approval.
2. The electrician must be present on inspection day.
3. Have photos of fixings and earthing ready.
4. They swap in a bidirectional meter.

Before you continue: Until the bidirectional meter is in, exports are not credited.

Stop and call: if the inspector notes something, write it down verbatim.

Close out

1. File the approval record in the customer folder.
2. Check the first bill for exported energy.
3. Show the customer how to read that line.

Before you continue: The first bill after approval must show exported kWh.
