Electrician guide

From module to panel in six tasks. Modules form DC strings into the central inverter; protected AC then feeds the panel.

During a grid outage the system does not power the house. The inverter shuts down by code. Backup needs the battery plan.

01

Isolate and prove it is dead

  1. Open the house main breaker and tag it.
  2. Prove dead at the panel with a tester.
  3. Cover modules until DC wiring is finished.

Before you continue: A module in sun is live even when disconnected.

Stop and call: if there is no RCD or no earth electrode.

02

Build the module strings

  1. Group modules into the strings shown on the inverter plan.
  2. Mate MC4s in series. Respect polarity and do not mix strings.
  3. Measure voltage and polarity on every string before the home run. Label both ends.

Before you continue: Every string matches the plan, is inside the inverter range, and is labelled.

Stop and call: if a connector will not lock or water entered a module box.
